Natural Honey & Aloe Vera Face Mask

Today I made super awesome Natural DIY Face Mask.. I did Natural Honey + Aloe Vera Face Mask

What you need:

1) One spoon of raw honey
2) Organic Aloe Vera Gel (you can get it from pharmacies I believe) or you can use the real aloe too if you want too ;)

Btw, I actually bought this organic aloe gel for my baby boy when he had bad nappy rashes & eczema on his face.. It worked like wonder, within 2 days, his rashes & eczema were completely gone! So, it's good on my baby, it's good on my face too!! ;)

How to make:

1) Put Aloe Vera Gel in the fridge (for cooling effect)
2) Mix Raw Honey and Organic Aloe Vera together. Stir Well
3) Apply on face for 10-20 minutes (I applied mine for 15 minutes & the cooling effect on my face felt so good, especially after having sleepless night taking care a fussy baby. I deserve this!)

This mask is perfect for sensitive skin (like mine). Cold aloe vera gel soothes inflammation, perfect for irritated skin and I also think it's perfect for hot weather like Singapore ;)

Honey is natural treatment people used in the past for acne, marks, scars, spots & blemishes. Honey is not only blessed with powerful skin saving antioxidants but also contains amazing anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antibacterial properties.

Natural Honey + Aloe Vera Face Mask soothes my tired skin.. The cooling effect from this mask is just amazing! Having this mask on and relaxing myself from my baby duty, even it's only 15 minutes, but it refreshes me so so much & I'm kind of ready to be a full time mom again ;)

My skin looks good ;) although I have no make-up on (no BB cream, etc) Thanks Goodness!

I started to appreciate natural beauty when I became a mother. Motherhood can be pretty hectic and often, I don't have time for make-up when I go out with my baby.. At first, I felt naked & less attractive without make-up on but after a while going out with no make-up (not even BB cream), my confidence level just improved along with my growing baby.. And I'm now okay with natural beauty (I don't mind going out looking like this!) most importantly, the beauty inside matters the most ;)

Besides, I'm currently on 14 days diet & detox plan to lose the last 3 kg of pregnancy weight. I'm on oatmeal, fruits, yogurts, veggie soup, plenty of water & nothing else.. To start on, day 1: Morning & Afternoon ~ I ate as per normal but in smaller portion. Night: oatmeal & banana (I started gently on day 1 to prevent tummy-ache) I felt hungry & craved for foods.. Today~day 2: Oatmeal, fruits & yogurts and plenty of water.. Surprisingly my body's starting to get used to it and I didn't feel that hungry anymore.. A good thing is I woke up with good complexion & SLIMMER FACE (my goodness).. I guess detox does improve skin condition and it reduces water retention too (thus my face became slimmer, ah-ha!).. Will update everything on my blog 2 weeks later & hope it works, so other mommies can try it out too ;)

Avocado Mask for Dry Dry Skin

Hello ladies...

I wanna share with you my avocado mask beauty treatment.. I just had it just now and oh gosh, my face feels instantly tightened, very moisturised and super baby smooth... I don't even need to apply any face cream on my dry face anymore because it's already very soft, dewy and moisturised enough :) This home made mask is very very good for skin, I love it!! Use it 2 times a week and you will love it like I do :)

Avocado

Avocados are great source of vitamins C and E, which are believed to stimulate collagen production production and minimise fine lines.

Mash half an avocado, apply on face for 10 minutes, massage your face for 2 minutes with the avocado paste before have it on. Wash as usual with water and your facial wash..

I find using my hand to mash it is much easier, it's gross, yeah I know...

I look so so so gross... but it's so so so good for my skin, I know!

See how dewy my bare skin is without anything on...

What you get: Soft & Moisturised skin

What can you do with your other half of avocado? JUST EAT IT!!! It's good for your skin too :) When you are healthy, have flawless good skin, you will look damn great without anything on (I mean make-up) oh yeah not even a BB cream or tinted face moisturiser, plus having good skin can build UP your confidence.. UP UP and UP... :))

Oh no, after having this avocado treatment, I can't stop touching my velvet-soft face, geez!!!

Rose & Milk Tea Mask

Hello...

I made a new face mask and I named it Rose & Milk Tea Mask

Cleopatra, famous for her ancient beauty secrets, used rose water in various face masks. It also prevents ageing by reducing wrinkles and tightening skin pores. Dry skin can be hydrated by using rose water as a moisturiser. Rose water cleanses the skin, removing dirt, oil and other pollutants from deep inside the skin pores

Tea acts as anti-oxidant properties and milk helps to smoothen & brighten skin (Cleopatra bathed in milk too)

Step 1 : Prepare your roses.. I have rose plant in my garden, so I plucked off some ugly roses

Step 2: Prepare it in a bowl like this

Step 3: If you have extra roses, keep it in a jar filled with water and keep it in the fridge. Use it again as face mask or bathing :)

Step 4: Prepare your black tea

Step 5: Mix it together with rose water

Step 6: Add milk, 2-3 tablespoons

Step 7: Mix a little bit of water to make a paste like this, apply on your face and rinse off after 15-20 minutes

Step 8: DONE, I look very fresh after this cooling mask :) and fairer too :)

Rice Flour + Milk Powder Mask for natural whitening

Hello Ladies

Been a while since my last post, just back from Indonesia for a short trip to visit my parents and bought heaps of beauty products (cheaper there, lol)

Today I'm gonna share with you my natural whitening skin mask.. It's cheap, easy & effective.. Natural & safe.. Let me introduce to you: MILK POWDER + RICE FLOUR Mask. This mask soothes & moisturises my skin so so much, especially after a hot day outside!

I used this mask for my sun-burnt skin and I believe it helped to brighten my skin to the original fair color :)

Whenever I go out and it's super burning hot (Singapore is super hot), I will make & apply this mask after one hot, humid, sweaty day to cool down & maintain my soft fair skin :)

Asian ladies believe that milk can whiten complexion & make skin super baby-soft. Plus they also believe that rice can brighten skin & prevent wrinkles..

Milk: When applied topically, the lactic acid in milk will gradually reduce skin's pigmentation, resulting in a lighter complexion

Cleopatra bathed in milk to whiten her skin and milk softens skin too :) Bathing in milk or using milk as skin mask makes me feel like a princess, thus makes me happy :)

Rice: can keep our skin youthful and translucent looking. Rice contains a high concentration of PABA. PABA (para aminobenzoic acid) is a very good sunscreen. When taken internally, PABA also raises the Vitamin C levels in our bodies. Plus it is a good anti-inflammatory agent. It soothes sunburns and also promotes the skin’s repair. It is an antioxidant too :)

So, let's get started:

Let's prepare milk powder (any brand can do wonder), rice flour (from supermarket, again any brand is fine, I got mine from a supermarket), Olive oil (optional) and a bowl

Step 1: Take about 10 tablespoons of rice flour

That is about half of your bowl

Step 2: Take about 5 tablespoons of milk powder

Step 3: Mix rice flour & milk powder together

Step 4: Mix one spoon of olive oil (optional). Olive oil is to add moist to my skin. Add olive oil if you have dry skin

about this much, 1 tablespoon is more than enough

Step 5: Mix with a little bit of water

Step 6: Stir it until it becomes thick paste

Yes, thick thick paste!

Step 7: Apply on my face, it has that kind of tightening effect on my face.. I feel so so so tight!

Apply it on my hands & legs as well. I believe if face needs extra care & face mask, why can't hands & legs have the same fair treatment too? Below is how it looks like when the mask is still wet

This is how it looks like when the mask dries off.. It's super super tight on my skin

can't even smile, so tight! I believe the tightness removes my oily sebum & bad blackheads

the mask is drying real fast!

After the mask dries off, about 15-20 minutes later, rinse it off.. shower as per normal :) I recommend leave the mask on your body for 30 minutes for the whitening effect, but only leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes because it's super super tight!

Do this treatment 2-3 times a week, or whenever you go out under super hot sun! The day I come back home after a super hot day, I straight away make this mask before going for a cool shower!

And here I look so fresh after this natural whitening treatment! My complexion is flawless without make up (this pic is original without flash or editing at all) and I believe maintenance is very important & it doesn't have to be expensive!

So, go and make use of your kitchen stuff!!

Indonesian Natural Beauty Steps

Beautiful Ladies..

As I mentioned in my previous blog, I just came back from my hometown, Medan-North-Sumatera, Indonesia and brought so many beauty products.. I'm a little over excited to try everything at one goal, lol!!

I always love my own country's products but that doesn't mean I buy it because I love my country, but instead I buy it because Indonesian beauty products are great, good quality and most importantly natural :) Lots of them are made by plants, made traditionally using lots of herbs and it's also generation by generation 's grandma beauty recipe... I grew up in Indonesia, traditionally I have many natural beauty tips from my grandma to share with you ladies around the globe, so follow my blog & let's be beautiful together inside-out!! :)
Well, this post I'm gonna write about my love towards Indonesian beauty brands.. Since I bought so many products, let's get started on my typical Indonesian beauty regime first!!!

STEP ONE:

1) LULUR, in English, lulur means "body spa". This product is very natural and basically contains little scrub granules and herbal turmeric water to soften skin :) It's like 2 in 1, body scrub & body mask, I use this to scrub my body and then wait for 10-15 minutes to let the turmeric water fully absorbed in my skin (you can also let it dry completely like face mask before rinsing off). Use it twice a week! :p

It smells great and my skin feels instant soft and more radiant after "lulur". This treatment started centuries ago by Javanese Princesses in Indonesia. Centuries ago, Indonesian Princesses used herbs & plants to maintain their beauty & passed down the beauty recipe from generation to generation. Moreover, Indonesia is also well known by its super rich herbs & plants, this is why Indonesian natural beauty products are available widely in the country & every lady loves to go natural there.. Natural Beauty Shines!!!

Made by curcuma heyneana extract, murrayae follium extract, tumeric, cananga odorata extract & pandan leaf extract (all natural plants & herbs, I'm not very familiar with the English terms)

Yes, it's yellow because turmeric is yellow and that's why curry (made by turmeric) is yellow too and Indians are swear by turmeric beauty to maintain fair beautiful skin :)

STEP TWO: Coffee Soap, yes.. it smells like coffee :) and coffee is good for skin :)

and here are the benefits ( in Indonesian & English).. English translation is below after Indonesian (see the picture below)

I feel so good bathing with coffee :) :)

STEP THREE: Carrot Shampoo :) To prevent dry hair and split ends

Orang Oring, in English means "eclipta leaf". To keep hair black richly glowing & shiny. I love beautiful shiny hair :)

STEP FOUR: Facial (Peeling and Masking)

This is my favourite step.. My face feels fresh, clean & soft :) just like having facial session at beauty salon :)

Oh, my mum loves these 2 products very much and swears by it!! She said her skin looks younger, fairer, tighter & more radiant after having her personal inexpensive facial :) She's 55 but looks like in her 40s, I hope I inherit her good skin when I'm at her age :)

Masker Bengkoang means "Bengkoang Mask" and Peeling Mundisari means "Mundisari (name) Peeling/or face scrub"

and I don't know what is Bengkoang in English, anyway bengkoang looks like this

Bengkoang Mask : Contains phospor and calsium which is extracted from Bengkoang. It has cooling effect and lightens skin color. It also diminishes black spots in face and neck area. Use it twice a week! :)

Mundisari Peeling: Made from natural plant's ingredients and original rice flour. Helps to exfoliate dead cells from skin surface and accelerates skin rejuvenation. Use twice a week & before masking! :)

Top: Bengkoang Mask (thick white color with pleasant smell)
Bottom: Mundisari Peeling (small beads scrub with not-so-pleasant herbal smell - but I don't mind)

and here I'm enjoying my masking session ^^

STEP FIVE: Natural Body Lotion

Left: Mustika Ratu Bengkoang Body Lotion
Right: Citra Japanese Rice & Camellia Flower Oil Body Lotion

Okay, no translation for this one, basically it says that Japanese Rice & Camellia Oil lighten skin color & reduce dark spots. Japanese rice is enriched with antioxidant to lighten skin color naturally and camellia oil softens skin. This is why Japanese women are very fair & soft skinned. Enriched with UVA & UVB to protect skin from sun exposure

For bengkoang lotion, since decades ago, Indonesian women are strong believers of bengkoang fruit as natural skin whitening product.. Eaten or applied, both will have the equal whitening effect naturally. Bengkoang as natural whitening has been passed down for generations and I had used it when I was 12 and considering to use it again for long term now :)

My fair skin is so smooth now... Step 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and now beautiful skin and it's worth it!!! :)

Zoom it, see my sensitive thin skin? pale color with lots of greenish & purplish spider veins :( How to get rid of my spider veins? I got this ALL from my mum, she has very pale skin color with endless spider veins too, Ha-Ha, that's the reason why I got it too!!
