(Sponsored Review) The New Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Shampoo

I have always been seized by the urge to press my nose against my babies' head the moment they were was born. That long and deep sniffs I will never forget. The smell of sweetness of a baby is the most wonderful scent in the world.

I remember sniffing my baby all the time was the most enjoyable thing I have ever done as a mother after long hours of tiring daily routine such as feeding the baby, changing his diaper, carrying him to sleep and doing house works at the end of the day. Sweet baby scent was like a reward to me, it was like telling me "it's all worth it.."

But sadly the sweet scent of a baby didn't last long. Simply because baby grew up fast ~ newborn to babyhood to toddlerhood & becoming more active, thus here we welcomed the unpleasantly "body sweat". Good bye sweet baby scent and hello "stinky body sweat"

Little did I know, my toddler boy would sweat so much from his activeness ~ running around the playground, jumping like a little monkey, chasing birds at the park and messing up our house and unlike baby's sweet sweat, toddler's body sweat can smell really unpleasant, especially head and hair. No one likes to sniff sweaty head, right?

Afraid no more because I have a solution now for my little stinky toddler!!!

Thanks to the new innovation by Johnson & Johnson, The new Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Shampoo is my new solution to the unpleasant smell of toddler's hair!

The new Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Shampoo makes little EJ's hair smell so good no matter how active he is!

Specially formulated with fragrance that can deliver freshness and cleanness to help toddlers and kids during playtime, the new Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Shampoo has been developed to deliver freshness, remove and prevent malodor.

Little EJ messing up his toys, toddler can be really creative and here he is, lining up his cars one by one and pretending he's the boss!

Enriched with long lasting fresh fragrance, sweat activated fragrance capsules with no more tears formula and mildness for children, the new Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Shampoo technology absorbs body sweat, neutralizes malodor using the malodor neutralization technology and releases long lasting fragrance with sweat triggered freshness using the encapsulated technology

Moreover, it also prevents dirt from sticking to hair, so that hair remains clean and fresh

Another thing that attracted me was the long lasting effect. My boy took his morning bath at 9am and at 6pm, his hair still smelled good despite sweating so much in the day time. The nice scent was still lingered in his hair after so many hours and I was amazed by its long lasting effect on my kid' s hair. I also noticed that when he sweated, he smelled even nicer, thanks to the smart malodor neutralization technology. Talking about scent, it was one of the best scents I have ever smelt. It smelled like combination of fruity scent and powdery musk scent that delivered the scent of sweetness, softness and freshness

Toddler boy who loves his lollipop so much!

Playtime for both kids

The last thing that attracted me was the mildness. It didn't make him teary when the shampoo went into his eyes and it didn't irritate his eyes too thanks to the mild formula in the shampoo. Plus I noticed that his hair becoming softer and more manageable ~ tangle free & frizz free hair. Most importantly, it didn't irritate his scalp. Overall, this shampoo worked well for my toddler boy in terms of mildness & long lasting nice scent and yes I would buy Johnson's Baby Active Fresh shampoo again :)

It's Lego time before kids' bed time. p/s: they really love Lego and they do share & fight

Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Shampoo is available in 2 sizes:
1) 200ml is retailed at $4.50 and
2) 500ml is retailed at $9.95

I'm in love not only with the new Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Shampoo that smells so good but the whole Active Fresh range such as Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Bath and Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Powder.

Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Range I really love!

Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Bath is developed using a mild, easy to lather and rinse formula. It's also infused with Active Fresh technology that eliminates smelly sweat on skin, leaving it clean and smelling irresistible fresh and Johnson's Baby Active Fresh Powder has sweat activated technology that releases a burst of long lasting fragrance when it comes in contact with sweat.

Ideally the whole range of Johnson's Baby Active Fresh should be used together to achieve the maximum of long lasting freshness for your active little ones.

Thank you Johnson's Baby, bath time is really fun now!

Thank you fellow parents for reading my review and let the little one stay fresh longer!

Week 37 Her Face + My favorite baby online shops

37 weeks pregnant! Officially Full Term!!

Yesterday I went to my prenatal check-up at TMC and I'd say it was the best visit ever! No queue (not many people in the clinic) and the best thing was Calysta finally showed her face to me, she had been quite shy to show her face, been hiding her face against the wall of my uterus (is it a right term "uterus wall"?) and I thought she wouldn't show me at all and I would have to wait until she's born! But yesterday she gave me a big surprise, the first time ever Calysta showed her face to me, although ultrasound scan was not that clear but I roughly knew how she would look like when she's born. I have been imagining her face for the longest period ever!

She looks like EJ when he was a newborn, she has her daddy's nose!

At 37 weeks, Calysta is pretty tiny, she's only measuring 35 weeks, which is 2 weeks behind but doctor has no concern at all as she's gaining weight and she's doing fine as well (Heartbeat & water level are both good!) From week 34 to week 37, she only gained 300 grams. She's currently 2.7 kg and 31 cm (from top to bottom), not sure her exact length from head to toes! Compared to EJ, she was much lighter, EJ was almost 3.1 kg at 37 weeks. I'm sure baby boy is bigger than baby girl!

Doctor said it's anytime now and I did ask him if he needed to write me an admission letter and surprisingly he said "no need"!, advised me just come to L&D when I have contractions or any pains!

From week 34 to week 37, I gained 1 kg only which I was very surprised!. I used to gain 3-4 kg every month in my third trimester (funnily, I only gained 1-1.5 kg every month in my second trimester) but for the past three weeks, I gained just 1 kg (Calysta gained 300 grams, so mine would actually be 700 grams weight gain) I really think it's due to high stress level I experienced for the past three weeks, EJ was sick for a couple of weeks and during that time, I didn't have enough sleep, too stressed out& didn't have appetite to eat! But I'm grateful though, that it's only 1 kg of weight gain, hahahaaa...

This 2nd pregnancy has been a smooth sailing pregnancy and I couldn't ask for more. I have been so grateful! I can eat, sleep & walk well! Physically I feel good too, no soreness or itchiness or whatever!

However, the funny thing is how different emotional feeling can be between 1st & 2nd pregnancy. 1st pregnancy, I couldn't wait him to come out and every day was so slow but 2nd pregnancy, time flies so fast and I CAN wait her to come out (although sometimes, I'm too curious how she looks like and can't wait to see her face!) because I need more time & it will never be enough to spend my precious time with my son before she's here...

Ready or not, she's coming soon! Too soon!

Me & Baby Girl, not sure she will look like me or not!

Closer look, she's placing her hand in front of her chin!

Baby bump at 37 weeks!

And btw, just want to share my top 5 favorite baby online shops in Singapore and I hope this can help fellow mommies (especially first time mums) I have been buying baby stuff online since EJ was a newborn because it's so convenient.

TWO advises, please choose the reliable shop that offers FREE home delivery in the next day (for certain amount of purchases) and please pay by PayPal for fast transaction!

I have been buying regularly from these shops (for both babies, EJ & Calysta) and they are:

1) BabyOnline ~ http://www.babyonline.com.sg/

Good service, free home delivery for certain amount of purchases, fast delivery. I bought sleeping bags (quite many of it), Thermos Food Jar and some stuff I can't remember.

2) Pupsik Studio ~ http://www.pupsikstudio.com/

Good service, fast delivery, free home delivery for certain amount of purchases. I bought baby slings & baby carriers (very good offer!), baby toys, nasal aspirator, Aden Anais Muslin Swaddle, baby swaddle, Aveeno Baby Eczema Cream (very good!), Baby crib mobile and a few more! They offer good deals and varieties too!

3) Agape Babies ~ http://www.agapebabies.com/

Good service, fast delivery, free home delivery for certain amount of purchases. The best purchase I've ever made is California Baby. I only use organic baby shower gel & shampoo and I find that this website offers so so much cheaper organic baby bath range comparing to retail shops like Watsons, etc.. I have been stocking California baby bath range from them. I also bought card milestones and fever patch from this website too! Good deals and varieties too!

4) The Groovy Giraffe ~ http://www.thegroovygiraffe.com/

This one is an online book store, my son loves books and I have been buying so many baby books from this website. I prefer to buy baby books in bulk, more convenient and I don't have to worry heavy loads as they offer free home delivery for certain amount of purchases. Good service but delivery will take a few days time which I don't mind (books are not that urgent!)

5) BingBling ~ http://www.bingbling.com.sg/

This one is mostly selling products related to breastfeeding. Reliable, cheap, original & good service! But it doesn't offer free home delivery unfortunately but I'm still happy with this website, even though I have to top up for courier, but the price + courier is still much cheaper than retail shops like Mothercare or Mums & Babes. I love Medela products and this shop offers a wide range of Medela products in a much cheaper price!

Others:

1) Q0010 Singapore ~ http://www.qoo10.sg/

I can find anything everything cheap in this website! But the thing is I need to find a reliable seller and read reviews from other buyers before buying. Please use Paypal for easy transaction! I tried bank transfer before but I faced some horrible problems, order cancelled, wrote a complaint letter, checked here and there, re-ordered and finally got back my stuff after so many weeks of waiting. So for this website I will only use PayPal!

I bought quite many cheap baby stuff from this website from clothes, socks to breastfeeding positioner. My best purchase would be Zojirushi Food Jar (this one can keep baby food warm for more than 7 hours and it's the best!). Selling at $40 from this website (authentic one) where retail costs around $70-$80. Many of the baby stuff in this website cost half retail price! Good offer but delivery will take a little longer and most importantly, must read reviews before buying!

I hope this helps new mommies in buying baby products online!

BABY CALYSTA IS COMING SOON! Oh gosh, can't believe it, I'm going to be a mother of two soon!

My Most Favorite Baby Stuff Part 2

Hello Mommies & Daddies of Gorgeous Babies :)

This post is hopefully to share with you in picking and buying the right baby products for your baby and here is My Most Favorite Baby Stuff Part 1 (if you haven't read so and want to know about our favorites so far)

Here are 10 Most Favorite Baby Stuff Part 2

1) Most Favorite Rashes Cream (especially rashes on face): Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy

Seriously, this works like wonder & so far my favorite. Baby EJ is quite prone to have red rashes/eczema on his face due to hot weather, milk spill, saliva during teething period or own finger rubbing and so far I only got his prescription cream from his Pedi and it did work but it took pretty long time to recover until I discovered this magic cream. I even bought more to keep in my drawer, just in case the online seller doesn't sell this wonderful cream anymore.. It cleared his rashes in just max 2 days time.. Worked like magic and highly recommend this to mommies! :)

2) Most Favorite Dental Wipe: My Dentist Choice Tooth Tissues

It's the best I ever used to clean Baby EJ's gums and now teeth. It's disposable and the tissues are pretty thick & soft for baby's mouth. Previously I used the glove one and It hurt baby EJ's gums. I didn't know how and why it happened, basically I was just cleaning his gums using the finger glove dental wipe and when I took it out from his mouth, I saw blood. It wasn't that much blood but it definitely hurt his gums (not sure if his gums were already bleeding due to him biting random stuff or if the hard/rough edge of the finger glove I used on him accidently cut him or something). Anyway, it scared me so much & I swear I will never use that finger glove dental wipe anymore (Yes, it's from a popular brand though). So far, my dentist choice dental wipe is the best I ever used and it never hurt baby EJ's gums at all :) Highly recommend this too!

3) Most Favorite Teether to soothe painful & itchy gums: Water Filled Teether

I'm pretty crazy with baby teethers. So far, I have the giraffe, the popular Korean brands with fruits theme like Grapes, Strawberry, etc.. I also have the one that looks like pacifier and many more.. Honestly these teethers are very attractive and can entertain baby pretty well during travelling or outing time but so far my favorite teether to soothe painful & itchy gums during teething period is water filled teether. It simply just works!

I put this water filled teether in the fridge & take it out when baby EJ is in pain due to teething. There was one night baby EJ woke up crying, he drank his milk, he was changed too but we didn't know why he was so cranky and refused to sleep back.. It was midnight. I suspected he was having gum/teeth pain because he seemed like grinding his gum/teeth, so I took out his cold teether from the fridge and let him bite to soothe his sore gums.. Half an hour later, he was asleep :)

Tip to mommies: you can buy a few of these water filled teethers and keep it all in the fridge. When baby needs it, take out one and 15 minutes later, when teether is no longer cold, you can take another one from the fridge.. That's why I would suggest mommies to have more than one water filled teether during teething period. It's really useful!

4) Most Favorite Baby Cereal: Frisco

I'm not sure other baby's preference but baby EJ just loves Frisco. He's fine with both Frisco Rice Cereal or Wheat-based milk cereal. He loves sweet taste and Frisco Baby Cereal contains milk, so it's sweet and tasty to him and he has been eating Frisco Baby Cereal since he was 6 months old :) until now!

5) Most Favorite Baby Tool for Walking: Walking Wings

Seriously, this helped me so much & helped me to prevent chronic backache during his " learning how to walk " period. It's great to use outside too, especially you know if your baby is one little naughty runner.

6) Most Favorite Small Toy: Sassy Baby Roll Toy

Not sure why but baby EJ loves this and seems to get fascinated easily by this. He loves to roll this fast or slow as he likes and this is the only small toy he can play over and over again. He has many small toys and he gets bored very easily after playing for max twice. But this toy, is his favorite so far.. It's great to bring along during car trip or Pedi check-up too!

7) Most Favorite Baby Detergent: Kodomo Baby Laundry Detergent

I just love the smell, it smells like baby powder :)

8) Most Favorite Baby Rocker: Fisher-Price Newborn to Toddler Rocker

Seriously, I can't live without this. I'm not saying this because I was sponsored by Fisher-Price but it's fully my opinion as a mom

We had one baby rocker before this and I don't know why, it seemed like baby EJ's posture/position was just not right, especially during sleeping/milk feeding time.. It was like the angle to feed him was just wrong and we had to use many blankets to boost it a little higher and to adjust it into the correct position.. It was troublesome!

So when Fisher-Price sent me this for review, I just knew this was the right one.. I didn't need booster or anything make it right.. It's right in angle & comfortable for baby EJ :) Plus it's very light in weight too, so I can feed him in his rocker anywhere I want :)

Btw, baby EJ doesn't want to drink milk when we hold him, he just wants to drink milk from his rocker (this habit started when he was just 3 months old) and when we are outside, he's fine drinking milk from his stroller. But never ever hold/carry him during milk time, he would rather go hungry! So that's why baby rocker is one of the most important baby stuff at home.

He's currently 11 months plus and still drinking milk from this rocker very comfortably!

9) Most Favorite Baby Play Stuff: Baby Play Yard, need I say more?

It was already a perfect place for baby EJ to learn walking and now, he's walking, Play Yard is the safest place for him seriously!

I can't imagine not having this installed at my house. Baby EJ is a super active baby and once we let him roam freely at home, he would grab anything in sight and mess up the whole house and we are actually okay to let him roam around ~ with our supervision of course.

As a SAHM, Baby Play Yard is super useful, at least I can put him there while I'm eating my lunch or having short toilet breaks.

10) Most Favorite Place for Afternoon Nap: Yao Lan/Spring Cot

Yao Lan is widely used in some Asian countries like Singapore, Indonesia & Malaysia. Basically Yao Lan or Spring Cot is a baby rocker, you can either use it manually (by hands to rock the baby) or automatically (by motor/machine to rock the baby sleep) It has been used for many generations. My mom used this too when I was a baby

I started using yao lan when baby EJ was a newborn. Back then, he was a difficult sleeper and almost nothing worked to soothe him to sleep. So, we bought this yao lan and let him nap there in the afternoon, so far it's his favorite place to nap comfortably.

I'm not sure why he just can't sleep well in his baby cot in the afternoon. He's a light sleeper and very sensitive towards sounds, even it's just a little, so when he's napping in his cot, he will probably nap for max 30 minutes only and when he's in his yao lan rocker, he can nap for 60-90 minutes. He naps much better here.

Luckily he's not addicted to this, he's okay to sleep on bed at night :)

My yao lan rocker is an automatic one, meaning I can adjust the speed, of course slower is better for baby (fast speed will affect brains, I heard and I'm afraid)

The thing now about yao lan rocker is I have to accompany him when he's sleeping because baby EJ is able to get up himself and I'm afraid he will fall down when he tries to get up himself. So, I watch him when he's sleeping for 60-90 minutes (I kill time by watching Korean drama LOL)

Napping comfortably

That's about it and I hope it's useful though :)

Till Next Baby Stuff Update,

~Mommy of Baby EJ~

P/S: I think April is my lucky month and I just received my best early birthday present ever and will announce it when the right time comes :) Anyway, just wish me luck! :)

My Most Favorite Baby Stuff Part 1

Hello Moms-to-be and Fellow New Moms

Have you ever had this thought "What is good & What should I buy for my baby?"

I had & I still have!

When I was pregnant with Baby EJ, I didn't have many mommy friends and even I had some, they weren't close to me, so honestly I was the way to shy to ask their recommendation what baby stuff/brands should I buy. There are too many in the market and sometimes, it can be confusing to choose too, right?

I experienced that! I didn't have anyone to ask or recommend me, so I bought based on whatever reviews I found online.. Pretty sad, isn't? I also bought whatever I found in baby expo, store, etc.. Bought based on certain promotion too.. (I bought when the deal was good without knowing more knowledge about the brands) As result, I bought so many 'wrong' baby stuff and I needed to re-buy & try other brands and to see if it's better for my baby... Yes, it was frustrating & I spent lots of money on different brands, but you know what, they said "Experience is the best teacher..", apparently it's true and at least now I pretty much know what is my favorite & for my next baby, I absolutely know what to buy! :)

I'm sharing with you my most favorite baby products and I hope my sharing can be useful for you, especially if you are mom-to-be, not sure what to buy, etc...

Here are my recommendations :)

1) Favorite Breast Pump: Medela Freestyle

It's double electric breast pump and I swear by it! When I was pregnant, I bought other electric breast pump based on sales promoter's recommendation at baby expo because I didn't know what to buy, no one recommended me, I was lost & had ZERO knowledge on breastfeeding.. My first breast pump hurt me like crazy until I found my favorite breast pump, Medela Freestyle.. This one is really expensive but it's like so so so worth it!! Pump efficiently & super comfortable! Highly recommended for breastfeeding moms!

P/S: I have quit breastfeeding at 8 months and I will definitely keep this breast pump for my next baby!

2) Favorite Baby Carrier: Ergo Baby

Before I bought Ergo, I had 2 other brands, one was a super famous & crazily expensive brand and another one was a cheap carrier my husband bought overseas when he was on business trip.. The expensive one was uncomfortable, hot and a bit difficult to wear it myself.. So, I didn't have much faith in baby carrier until a friend of mine introduced Ergo Baby.. I'm so in love with this baby carrier & so far, my most favorite.. Highly Highly recommend this to moms-to-be or new moms looking for good baby carrier. Why I love it? It's super easy to wear, I don't need help at all to wear this carrier (bear in mind Baby EJ weighs almost 11 kg), it's super duper easy to wear, comfortable for both me & Baby EJ (he can fall asleep in this carrier), it's not hot (I love the cotton material), I don't experience any body ache (back, hip, shoulder, etc).. No ache at all!

Because I love this baby carrier so much, I bought 2! Mine is original type. I bought one for myself which I adjusted perfectly according to my body size & another one for my mom-in-law & helper, so they can use too! Totally worth the $ and I think I can't live without this baby carrier.. I wear it many times every day and also Baby EJ just wants to be carried & walked to sleep in this baby carrier before transferring him to his cot.

3) Favorite Bottle Cleanser: Tollyjoy

I love it because I just need to pump a little amount and I can wash many already.. Save $ and easy to clean & rinse!

4) Favorite Baby Hair & Body Wash: GAIA

I love it because it's organic, 2 in 1, it makes Baby EJ's skin super smooth & it's super suitable for Baby EJ's scalp.. Previously I used other brand from Japan but I noticed Baby EJ had lots of white dandruff, so I changed his hair & body wash. So far, it's the most suitable hair wash for his sensitive scalp.. No more dandruff & his hair is super smooth too (and shiny!).. It's super expensive, $45 plus if I'm not wrong for one 500 ml bottle but absolutely worth the $! :)

5) Favorite Pants Diaper: Merries Walker Pants

Super love this! Comfortable, it doesn't cause rashes, the rubber material is soft & it doesn't cause red marks, plus the pants material is soft but good! I tried other brand, but I noticed the cutting left some red marks on Baby EJ's thighs & the material was not good (loose thread all over his walker pants  when he was extremely active & couldn't stop moving). I tried many, so far, Merries is the best! Expensive though but best! I only use Merries Walker Pants in the morning & afternoon. For night time, I use other brand with higher absorbency

6) Favorite Night Diaper: Mamy Poko Extra Dry

So far my favorite for night diaper.. It absorbs urine very well & keeps him dry for the whole night. Normally I will put Baby EJ on this diaper at 9PM and the next morning, 6AM, he will wake up for milk & I will change his diaper at the same time.. 9PM to 6AM is 9 hours and so far no leaking! No diaper rash too! Absolutely my favorite!

7) Favorite Steam Sterilizer: Pigeon

It's huge, double-deck and able to steam many bottles at the same time! Super effective! I just need to wash his feeding bottles at one goal & steam it together, that's it!

8) Favorite Baby Bottle: Avent

So far, Baby EJ's favorite. He loves the teat because it's not too wide (his mouth is pretty small and he can't take wide neck teats well), so far he's doing well with Avent teat as it's not too wide for his tiny mouth and the teat is pretty soft too.. Baby EJ doesn't want to drink milk from hard or not-too-soft teats.. I think soft teats remind him of mommy's boobs, perhaps?

9) Favorite Baby Pajamas: Mothercare

Seriously my favorite & I don't buy his pajamas from other brands, except Mothercare.. Super comfortable & suitable for his tall body. He can wear 1 size for many months.. He's currently wearing 12-18 months :)

10) Favorite Baby Wipes: Pigeon

I love this because it doesn't give him rashes! Gentle for his skin too.. I only use baby wipes when he poops! Other than that, I use water! Plenty of water to clean him!

11) Favorite Baby Powder: Kodomo Lotion Powder

I love it because it's dust free, cooling & suitable when the weather is super hot & Baby EJ sweats a lot! I apply this on his neck, armpits & arms to prevent rashes and he loves it because it feels cool :)

12) Favorite Blanket: Grobag Sleeping Bag

I never used blanket! First reason, SIDS, I don't want to risk it! Second reason, it's nearly impossible to put blanket on Baby EJ, he kicks it away, within minutes ~ he's blanket-less! So, I super love sleeping bag or wearable blanket, it's safe for Baby EJ & keeping him warm in our air-conditioned room too! I bought 2 other brands previously but didn't like it because the zip got stuck & broke easily and the material was not that suitable for air-con room.. I love Grobag Sleeping Bag because it has different togs (warmth ratings). Example: 1.0 tog is for warmer Asian country (21-23 degree). 0.5 tog is for room temp (24-27 degree), etc.. Another reason I love it is because it's pretty big (he's wearing 6-18 months comfortably), it's easy to zip up or down and most importantly, the zip lasts long & NEVER got stuck, not even once.. Super durable! Baby EJ is sleeping in a 24 degree air con room every night & he's wearing 1.0 tog grobag sleeping bag with Mothercare baby romper sleepsuit.. So far, he feels super comfortable & can sleep for the whole night! :)

P/S: I bought Grobag wearable blanket from Baby Online Singapore

I'm sure I will have more favorites next time and yes, I'm going to share again.. Hope it's useful for your baby shopping and remember it takes many 'wrongs' to get one 'good' product, but it's worth it! :)

Until Next Sharing,
~Mommy of Baby EJ~

PART 2 - My Most Favorite Baby Stuff
