Eyebrow and Eyeliner Embroidery at Brow Studio

Hello beautiful friends...

I have done something quite permanently on my face, okay maybe 'semi permanent' term would be better!

I DID EYEBROW & EYELINER EMBROIDERY! Btw, this post is being partially sponsored but all opinions are sincerely coming from myself and I'm very honest about it!

I've never thought I would do something like this in my life and gosh, eyebrows, who am I kidding? You know how I would freak out if I can no longer wipe off my eyebrow pencil? Yes, I would be lying if I said I wasn't afraid at all! I was afraid, I was afraid of getting funny looking eyebrows and regretting it later, I was afraid of pain, I was afraid my husband would hate it! I worried!

BUT

I was also feeling fed up with my super thin, greyish color and not-so-proportional-to-my-face eyebrows. Simply put, when I didn't draw my eyebrows, I looked pale and sick! Thus I couldn't leave the house without drawing my eyebrows!

Long story cut short, I saw how those eyebrow embroideries were being advertised so convincing-ly on Facebook and seeing the results, I was seriously tempted! So I did my research for so long, read bloggers' reviews over and over, again and again! I was just getting paranoid something could go wrong and that's it, I would cry a river hahaa... I know I can always erase it at the salon but it would hurt I guess (come on, something quite permanently like needle & ink cutting through your skin like tattoo but tattoo is much deeper cut of course and I won't buy the idea it wouldn't hurt at all) So I did my research for almost one month and decided to give it a go since I saw a friend of mine did her embroidery very naturally!

ANOTHER THING is the price was mostly very very crazy! The cheapest eyebrow embroidery I found was around $550 and the expensive one was up to $1800, oh my gosh! I was very certain that I wouldn't want to spend my money just like that! So so so, I did my research again through a Vanitee app and I found BROW STUDIO! Wendy, the stylist is very skillful and I saw she did very good & natural eyebrows on her portfolio and I swore, I was hooked! And the price was so reasonable!

Waiting no more, I booked an appointment to let her do the transformation!

Wendy is originally from Taiwan and she has more than 17 years doing eyebrow embroidery at her previous employer which was a big beauty & spa company. She has all the experinces under her belt, very careful and skillful.

She made me really comfortable, no hard selling at all and she was really patient!

Top pic: after I did my eyebrow embroidery. The ink hasn't peeled off yet
Bottom pic: my original eyebrows without eyebrow pencil :/

No make up pic! Wendy helped me to draw the shape I liked which was pretty thick and Korean looking :) and Wendy was very patient, helping me to draw different shapes and asking me to choose my favorite!

Numbing cream in progress! No pain at all!

After 10 minutes on numbing cream, Wendy started her work! Her needle had been sterilized well and it was new in a new packaging and she threw it away after she was done! She was really professional! She started to embroider my eyebrow and I didn't feel pain at all when the needle cut through into my skin. I felt funny hahaa... like something was scrathing my skin but I didn't feel anything! 30-40 minutes later, I was re-born with a pair of brand new eyebrows! Woo-hoo!

Top pic: after I had my embroidery. Can you see Wendy did stroke by stroke 6D eyebrow? The result was very natural!
Bottom pic: 1 week after eyebrow embroidery. The ink has peeled off and it looked so much more natural!

I want to show you my pic with full make up 3 days after my eyebrow embroidery and I looked kinda funny with thick eyebrows (ink hasn't peeled off yet)

And you see the difference 1 week later? so so so much natural! Just like I was naturally born with nice shaped eyebrows hahaa...

One happy lady :) And my new eyebrows compliment my face nicely :)

One month later, I decided to go for one free touch up session before I went to Japan. Ugly pic here hahaaa.. numbing cream in progress again

Done! Wendy gave me complimentary eyeliner embroidery too! I had eyeliner embroidery more than 10 years ago and the color had faded and nice Wendy offered her service at no cost  (as part of blog review sponsorship, I'm being honest here!) :) My eyes were swollen a little bit in this pic but the result was so natural, like you can't tell I had my eyeliner done too! To me, eyeliner was more sensitive and a little bit painful although personally it was bearable in overall!

The 1 week waiting time for the ink to peel off felt so long! I was in agony! My eyebrows really looked funny when the ink hasn't peeled off yet and I got teased often by my husband for looking so strange and fierce hahaa.. although I couldn't be bothered at all with stares from strangers hahaaa.. My little boy, EJ kept staring at me too and he laughed at my funny face, lol!

A few days after touch up, ink was still there and my face looked kinda stiff with thick funny looking drawn thickly like eyebrows hahaa..

2 weeks after that! Ink has peeled off fully! Yay! Very natural as you can see! I didn't apply anything on my eyebrows

and now, here I am :) I put on light brown eyebrow mascara in this picture because light brown mascara will soften my look in some ways. But even though I don't apply anything, my eyebrows are already perfect, thanks to Wendy :)

Eyebrow embroidery was the best semi permanent cosmetic I have ever done to my face and I didn't regret it at all, oh maybe I regretted it a bit, why didn't I do it earlier? :P

Good eyebrows make my face more proportional and make my facial features stand out as well. The best thing is I don't give a darn when I'm lazy to put make up on and I just go out with a small dab of BB cushion and nude lipstick, I'm all ready! I won't say I look pretty without make up on but quite decent looking with just BB cushion and lipgloss/nude lipstick. At least I do look fresh now without having make-up on, not like last time, sick looking with no eyebrow pencil/make-up on even though I was healthy like a cow! Hahaa... it's seriously a very big difference between having nicely shaped eyebrows or pale looking eyebrows!

Brow Studio eyebrow embroidery price starts from $380++ (not sure if the price has increased now, please check yourself) which I think is very reasonable for that quality service and result and it's located at Blk 450 Clementi Ave 3 #01-297, Singapore 120450 (MRT Exit D), Tel: 6774 1330. Email: browstudio2906@gmail.com

Many ladies came to me and asked me where did I do my eyebrows and I told them I did it at Brow Studio and I heard a friend of mine did hers there too and satisfied with the result! My point is if you want to do something you can't erase easily like this, it's better to read clear and honest reviews or get recommendation from your friends because you can't change anything after you have done it! As for me, I trust Wendy's work and I will return to her again! :)

Stay beautiful,
Netty :)

My most fav lip color, Etude House Fresh Cherry Lip Tint

I'm super in love with Etude House Fresh Cherry Lip Tint. And this probably gonna be my only lip product I bought 3 full size in different colors.

I started with trying the sample product of Etude House Fresh Cherry Lip Tint in Hot Pink & Red when I was travelling and oh Gosh, I have been hooked!

I would rate this 5 out of 5 seriously! The price, I've forgotten, below $15 each I think which is so affordable and worth to buy (price VS quality wise)

What I love the most about Etude House Fresh Cherry Lip Tint:

1) Non-drying formula, I don't even need extra lipgloss before or after
2) The color is so pretty, so close to pretty Korean actresses' lip color from the drama series I watch
3) It compliments well when I wear Etude House Fresh Cherry Lip Tint together with Magic Cushion that gives me that ''wet dewy'' look which I love. It really promotes sweet natural fresh look just like pretty Korean ladies.
4) The color is long lasting. Even after I eat or drink something, the color is still there (it fades a little only but overall I can still see some kind of pinkish color on my lips) Absolutely my lips don't look pale even after I eat or drink :)
5) It doesn't taste or smell funny! It smells pretty good actually!
6) I can use it on my cheeks as well to give me natural look (and yes compliments well with Magic Cushion on my cheeks)
7) I can create beautiful gradient lips with one or two combined colors

Overall, I think this is so far the best lip color/tint I have ever tried from Etude House :) And if you like Korean make-up/inspired look, Etude House Fresh Cherry Lip Tint is a must to buy!

Color from left to right: Red, Hot Pink, Orange

Orange is so far the most natural (nude) color on my lips. It's so nude that it looks like I'm not wearing any lip color at all but my lips still don't look pale at all. It's a little pinkish on my lips but the pinkish color is more towards natural lip color. I normally wear this color when I don't feel like putting any make up (like the pic below, I have no make up, just dabbing a little bit of magic cushion on my face). Would like to suggest this color if you like natural look the most!

Red is also another pretty & striking color. Don't worry about the label saying red, definitely it doesn't look red on my lips, it's more like pretty dark pink on my lips. I love to wear this color when I feel like putting on some make-up, doing my hair and dressing up! It's also a pretty color to put on my cheeks but watch out, it can turn really red on cheeks. I normally apply 2 tiny thin dots on my cheeks, even it out and layer up with magic cushion on my cheeks to create natural dewy complexion :)

My favorite color is hot pink! I think I have used almost 30-40% of its content hahaa.. The label says hot pink but it looks more like light pink to me which I super love! This color compliments my complexion very well! The color is not only natural but it brings out my fair complexion very well and it goes very well with my make-up! The color is not too bright, not too pale and not too dark as well. It's almost like natural pinkish lip color but in a more innocent way hahaa... Best of it is I can create gradient lips with this color (see pic below). I can put on one layer and put another thicker layer on inner side of my lips to middle part of my lips to create that innocent look :P Absolutely it's a nice color for fair/medium skin tone and perfect for Ulzzang inspired look :)

Best thing about this color, hot pink is that I can put it on my cheeks and it's the best color that suits my skin so much! Just 2 dots on my cheeks and even it out will do the trick! My cheeks are instantly glowing without any efforts! I have been using this color on my cheeks for quite a while & been skipping blusher (I find powder blusher looks unnatural and looks too made-up) altogether. Would recommend this color as cheek tint! It works so well!

A little of suggestion, if you plan to put lip tint on your cheeks, I would suggest you put super thin layer first because the color will get darker after 1 hour or more. I remember putting on so many dots on my face, thinking I couldn't see the color, I went out and when I came back home, my cheeks were super red! Gosh, it was embarrassing! Normally, 2 tiny dots are more than enough! But if you happen to put too much, you can use Magic Cushion to even it out!

Below is the combination of 2 colors: Red and Hot Pink to create pretty gradient lips. Hot pink on my whole lips (apply thin layer) and red on the inner side of my lips to middle part of my lips. And the result of the combination is amazing! Naturally beautiful lip color! And Korean ladies have been wearing a lot of this color with gradient effect and it brings out their fair complexion even better! It's a perfect combination when I feel like putting on make up or dressing up!

I'm really happy with Etude House Fresh Cherry Lip Tint and I hope they come out with more colors in the future :) I hope my sharing is useful!

Korean Effortless 'No Makeup' Look

I have been watching Korean drama recently and oh man, I'm so fascinated by the Korean Effortless 'No Makeup' Look. I mean like how come someone can be that beautiful with so minimal make-up? That flawless dewy skin, gradient lips, natural wavy hair... I want to achieve that look too!

Apparently it's not so hard to achieve and it's pretty easy too! And this is how I achieve that effortless 'No Makeup' Look and it only takes me like 10-15 minutes for the whole look! It's absolutely my favorite make up look so far!

Products I'm using:

Face: étude house precious mineral bb cream bright fit, étude house magic any cushion (magic pink), L'oreal Paris true match super blendable concealer

* It's pretty simple, after I wash my face, I moisturize my skin, I put on etude house BB cream on my whole face, L'Oreal concealer on my dark eyes (Thanks to Baby Calysta!) and etude house magic cushion by dabbing it (dabbing instead of wiping it) and I SKIP compact powder. By using the combination of BB Cream & Magic Cushion, I find that I can achieve Korean natural dewy look without effort. It's really easy!

** On my cheeks, I apply 2 little dots on each of my cheekbone Etude House fresh cherry tint in hot pink and layer up with Magic cushion to give me that natural dewy & a little Korean 'wet' look! Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint is so perfect for cheeks as well!

Eyes: Maybelline big eyes (BR-2), Essence eyebrow powder, dolly wink mascara long, revlon color stay crayon eyeliner in black

* I use eyebrow powder instead of eyebrow pencil to create natural eyebrows as possible

** I also use crayon eyeliner and draw the line as thin as possible to create 'no make-up' bright eyes

*** Followed by natural brown eye shadow and lengthening mascara (I try to avoid volumizing mascara to avoid thick eye make up look)

Lips & cheeks: étude house fresh cherry tint in hot pink.

*To create gradient lips, firstly I apply a thin layer of lip tint on my whole lips, after a few seconds (lip tint color is about to dry), I apply a thicker layer of lip tint on the inner side of my lips all the way to the middle side of my lips (like pic below). One lip tint color is good enough to create this Korean lips look! I find that hot pink looks a bit like baby pink to me which I super love! Btw, fresh cherry tint is so moisturizing, I don't even need anything! Nope, don't need lipgloss too!

Hair: Sasa rollers & mucota aire veil for wave 09 (non rinse out hair treatment)

* This hair treatment is recommended by the Korean salon I did my hair earlier and it keeps my wavy hair in a nice shape for quite long. After using the hair treatment lotion, I roll my hair for a while (I can do other things like taking shower, feeding my kids, doing make-up, etc) and when I'm about to go out from my house, I take off my hair rollers and my hair looks naturally amazing without any extra efforts spent! I apply a bit of argan oil if I find my hair is a little dry!

And here's the final look! It's really simple and it makes me looking younger (than my real age) and fresher. Thumb Up to Korean Make-Up!

Looking beautiful doesn't need too much effort, right? :)

Sample Store Editors' Party

A couple of weeks ago, on 22nd August, Saturday, I was invited by Sample Store to attend Sample Store Editors' Party. Thank you Sample Store team for organizing such an awesome party for all Sample Store Editors! It was my first editors' party and I was really excited knowing I got to meet so many wonderful & good looking ladies at the event. I felt a bit nervous too hahaa.. I was like planning what to dress up, what shoes to wear and what hand bag to carry, etc.. Despite having 6 extra kg of baby weight stuck inside me, I determined to look at least presentable. Lol!

The Sample Editors' party was conducted at Full of Crab, located at 195 East Coast Road Singapore 428900 (nearby i12 Katong Mall). Full of Crab is an American styled restaurant that serves fresh seafood with bursting flavors, cooked with tasty sauces such as Cajun, Garlic and more secret ingredients. The decor of this restaurant caught my eyes the moment I stepped in. It was unique and cozy. It looked like a good hang-out place with good food to spend quality time with family & friends.
The boss of the restaurant was so generous, all of us were fed well with generous portion of crabs, seafood, fries, cajun wings, fried sweet potato, free flow of soft drink and many more. The portion was too generous that we couldn't finish all. The food was too good and I was particularly impressed with the delicious garlic butter crabs and cajun wings. It was one of the best ever! To a food lover like me, I was kind of missing the taste when I was back home. so, I nagged my husband to bring me back to Full of Crab next week and he said "yes".

Ready to eat

Super delicious food, are you drooling now?

I can't wait to have my wonderful dining experience at Full of Crab again. For more information, please visit Full of Crab website: http://www.fullofcrab.com

The editors were allowed to take as many pictures as possible, got our pictures edited and uploaded into social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, etc and got our pictures printed on the spot.
It was instant and personalized. The "on the spot" instant photo printing was awesome and I loved the good service provided by FOMO Digital team too! They did a really good job. For more information on how to engage their service, please visit their website at https://www.fomodigital.com

DIY Oatmeal + Olive Oil Soap Bar

Hello

It has been a while I didn't post anything about beauty although I'm always very passionate about beauty stuff & cosmetics. Blame my pregnancy hormones, it makes me so damn lazy! Instead, I have been regularly updating about my pregnancy, can't blame me for that because pregnancy only lasts for 9 months and I want to record what has happened to me during those precious 9 months and in case, I miss my pregnancy moments and baby bump in the future, I can read again my old pregnancy posts. so, yeah, this is why I'm so lazy to talk about beauty and stuff. But recently, my beauty mood is kind of back & I'm so inspired to start DIY-ing again..

I have been quite obsessed in making DIY soap bars recently and I'm here to share my little recipe :)Oh in case you are a breastfeeding mum & would like to DIY breast milk soap bar (if you have a great supply and so, instead of throwing extra breast milk), I hope this post can give you a little inspiration how to make super easy DIY soap bar, using your own ingredients (you can also use oatmeal, olive oil, essential oils, rose petals, herbs and you can explore many more, very exciting, isn't?)

As you all know the benefits of oatmeal + olive oil, it soothes sensitive skin, it's great for dry skin, has good cleansing & healing properties and many more. My first trial of making DIY soap bar was to use 2 simple ingredients directly from my kitchen: Oatmeal + Olive oil

The method I used was Melt and Pour. This method is the easiest in making DIY soap bar, don't worry about the chemicals used that might hurt your skin or eyes if you are not careful. This Melt & Pour method is totally safe & easy!

Ingredients you need:

1) Soap base (it's transparent, no color, no scent, very natural) or any left over soap you don't use anymore. I haven't bought my soap base, so I used baby soap bar to test it out.
2) Olive Oil
3) Oatmeal
4) Microwave
5) Microwaveable container
6) Knife
7) Spoon to mix & stir
8) Grater to grate the soap
9) Baking molds (if you have), I don't have one, so I used my small plastic containers
10) Other ingredients you wish to add like honey, essential oils, etc

 How to DIY:

1) I used 100 grams soap bar, it's a baby soap bar, if you have a soap base, it's even better.

2) Grate the soap bar (so it's easier to melt)

3) I used microwave to melt my soap bar, so I put shredded soap in a microwaveable container. You can also use double boiling method if you prefer to use stove instead of microwave but it will take a much longer time (and I'm too lazy to wait!)

4) Microwave it for 60 seconds

5) Prepare your oatmeal & olive oil

6) After 60 seconds, your soap will be pretty much get melted, although not totally in my case because I was using a normal soap bar instead of a soap base, but it's ok though. Next is to mix 2-3 teaspoons of olive oil & a few spoons of oatmeal (I didn't measure), then put a spoon or two of hot water and stir everything. Your microwaved soap will pretty much have super soft texture now. Then, put the mixture in the microwave for another 30-60 seconds. The more water you add, the softer the soap bar will be!

7) Pour the mixture in a baking mold or a container, sprinkle some oatmeal on top, let it cool down for 1 hour, then put it in the freezer for another 1 hour, take it out from the freezer and let it sit in the room temperature for a few hours and newly DIY Oatmeal + Olive Oil Soap Bar is ready to use :)

8) Final product! From 1 soap bar, I can make 2 DIY soap bars! The final product looks edible though, like a piece of baked oatmeal cake ^^ It may not look pretty compared to commercial soap bars from the stores, but at least this one is 100% DIY & hand made loaded with lots of natural goodness :)

The other day, I tried oatmeal + honey and here's the result, still looking yummy like a piece of cake :)

Happy Trying!

Love,
Netty

Charee Eyelashes Review

I was so excited to receive a full box of eyelashes and this brand is pretty new to me and also my first time trying this brand. The beautiful eyelashes are from Charee. 100% hand made false lashes. I always love natural looking false lashes and I think putting false lashes can save my time in doing make up. Why did I say so? Simply because when I have no time, I will skip my eyeliner & mascara and go direct to my false eyelashes and viola! False eyelashes really make my eyes stand out without needing to put eyeliner and mascara (but of course when I have extra time, I will put a little effort to draw my eyes) ^^

Charee Lashes was born from the heart of beauty addict for beauty lovers. Perfection and Comfort are two special elements that Charee has in every piece of its gorgeous lashes. From the most natural lashes to the glamorous lashes, Charee's 10 pieces of gorgeous lashes are ready to embark beauty journey with beauty lovers around the world. Made by lash master in Indonesia and using only the best of synthetic fiber and clean & natural human hair, Charee lashes are now available at http://honeyzcube.com/ and retailed at SGD 7.99

A beautiful gift to brighten my days

Charee no. 4518 is pretty thick but lashes are looking pretty natural which I love :)

It's not only pretty but it's comfortable too

I'm thinking to wear it to a flirty date with dear husband, of course accompanied by a short girly dress too ;)

Charee no. 4501 is thick and dark in color, but it's also light and comfortable, so I'm thinking to wear this during a night out with my girl friends. Absolutely gorgeous to wear this for night event ^^

It makes my eyes stand out without feeling too overwhelming ;)

Charee no. 7464 is my favorite because it's so pretty. It's very natural, curly, not so thick (so much my liking), light and super comfortable.. I think no. 7464 is very girly too which reflects my personality. The pretty look yet natural is what I like the most. It's not even looking like I'm wearing false lashes but it's looking more like natural eyelashes that are naturally pretty and curly :)

Natural look is my favorite :)

It looks like I'm wearing minimal make-up but still looking fresh ;)

How pretty??? I can wear this every day ^^

Charee no. 4460 is light, comfortable but pretty long and yes, very prettily-curly!

My eyelashes looking like the super gorgeous and curly lashes Indian ladies have ^^

Can totally rock Bollywood or Arabic look, yeah?

Charee no. 7962 is very very natural and I think it's perfect when I have the craving to do Korean Inspired Look. Thinking of beautiful Korean actresses with their super flawless natural make-up, no.7962 is just perfect ;)

Super natural :)

Korean-Inspired Look, anyone?

Charee no.1313, oh wow!! This one is thick, dark in color and criss-cross type. I'm thinking to wear it to night event, like wedding dinner? This one will absolutely stand out ^.~

Looking pretty for wedding dinner? Wear this! And put on golden shimmery eye shadow with a long black dress, you will be a sexy goddess of the night!!

No. 1313 is so sexy and irresistible :D

Charee no. 1045 is another favorite lashes of mine. It's light, comfortable and very natural and it's a criss-cross type too (which is pretty)

Very natural looking which I like :)

Thinking to create sexy yet natural cat eyes? Go for no.1045! ;)

Charee no. 5296 is one of my favorites too.. I would say it's medium thickness, dark in color, not-so-long and it's looking more like my natural eyelashes with mascara on. I don't think people will notice I'm actually wearing false eyelashes ;)

It's a perfect when I want a little "oomph.." without looking too overwhelming

Natural but still looking pretty ^^

Charee no. 4813 is another pretty pair. It's so luscious without looking so thick and heavy. The strands are not so dark or thick which I like and it's comfortable to put it on.

Who says luscious eyelashes can't look natural? Charee no. 4813 can give me that luscious yet natural look ;)

I prove it right, see? It's luscious but natural :) Thinking to wear this during my romantic movie date with dear husband ^.~

Charee no. 4492 is lower false lashes. The first time I saw this, I immediately thought of Japanese Gyaru Girl. Although putting lower false lashes on is not as easy as putting upper false lashes on but practice makes perfect! With more practice and appropriate make-up look, every girl can absolutely rock that kind of "lower lash" look ^^

I'm wearing Charee no. 4492, lower lashes. What do you think? What I really think of lower lashes is that you can make it natural or Gyaru-kind, depending on the face make-up you put on. I can absolutely do "Gyaru" with no. 4492 but right now, I feel like I'm in the mood of natural make up, but emphasizing on "sharp" eyes, therefore I pick Charee no. 4813 for my upper lashes and Charee no. 4492 for my lower lashes. A perfect combination to create this look :)

P/S: A little tip: when you emphasize more on "eye" make-up, make sure that your eyebrows are looking natural (don't draw too thick, I prefer to use eyebrow powder instead). It's kind of balancing out the whole look without looking overwhelming. And of course, you can also put on pink, peach or orangey lipstick to complete the look :)

Happy Trying!!

Pssttt....I'm going to find out my 2nd child's baby gender next Friday when I'm 20 weeks plus pregnant and oh dear, I'm so nervous! Boy or Girl, I just want a healthy baby :)

Pic taken with Charee Lashes on (no. 4813 & no. 4492)
