Korean Ulzzang Inspired Look/Make-Up Tutorial

Anyone here obsessed with the super pretty Korean gal (her look-her makeup-her fashion style)? I have to admit I'm little obsessed!! They are amazingly the perfect 10. Plastic Surgery or Natural, who cares? Nonetheless, they are so pretty and they are kind of my inspiration in doing my make up or dressing up.. I know I can't be like them (if only possible with plastic surgery, but sorry, I'm not keen of going under the knife and I'm not that ugly either, so who cares?) However, I'm blessed with talent to do make up, so I can look pretty & presentable.. :)

Wanna get Korean Inspired Look? I CAN do that with MAKE-UP! Make-Up is so magical, it can totally transform somebody from Zero to Hero (literally)

I have done quite a few Korean inspired look and this time round, I'm gonna challenge myself to do Korean Ulzzang look.. Ulzzang is a popular South Korean term literally meaning "best face" or "good-looking" and you can google "ulzzang", you will find heaps of super pretty faces in the internet!

Anyway, I created this look and I found it's pretty easy to do.. Pretty much focusing on good complexion, nicely shaped nose, nice eyes & tiny lips.. Plus you can wear this make-up every day & promise it won't make you look like a freak.. It's not overwhelming at all! Pretty yet wearable, so wanna try it??

This is the final look and let's follow how I create this look :)

Start with moisturizing your face (I use Hada-Labo Essence), applying BB cream & loose powder (I use Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream in Bright Fit and Etude House Shining Dream loose powder)

Left: After applying BB Cream
Right: After applying loose powder

Result: Flawless complexion as you can see in the picture.. I feel like Korean already, lol! But seriously I super love Etude House BB Cream & Shining Dream Powder, it's not only making my complexion flawless like Korean gal, but it's moisturizing too, I don't feel dry or anything!

Sorry for the messy eyebrow, I start with basic color like white across my entire lid

Then start with glittery blue eye shadow on my eyelid

Next, apply one color (blue) lighter from my upper eyelid

Then, touch up with silver glittery eye shadow on the inner corner of eye

Next, apply eyeliner

Top pic: before eyeliner
Bottom pic: after eyeliner

Next is to use either or both black eyeliner or/and black glittery eye shadow on the lower lid. Apply half, from pupil to the outer corner.. It makes eyes appear bigger and sharper!

Next, you can either use brush or fingers to apply pinkish color on your cheek to imitate Korean prefect complexion (Korean perfect complexion = Fair skin + Natural Pinkish Cheek). I prefer to use fingers to apply as I suck at using brush, my fingers are better than any brushes!

Next, apply either mascara or natural type falsies to complete the eye make up.. I love my Tsubasa eyelashes (No. 10, Sweet Cat) It's pretty short, curly & natural! :)

Korean gal has perfectly shaped nose, so I use light brown eye shadow to make my nose appear slimmer & white eye shadow to make my nose taller :) Can you see the difference?

Final step, I create the famous Korean Gradient Lips, it gives youthful & innocent look, just like those gals in Korean drama.. Apparently, gradient lips are a trend now!

I use my concealer to conceal my lips, then apply bright pink color on my inner lips :)

You can apply either bright/dark pink or soft pink.. I love soft pink! My full lips appear smaller too :)

I'm done and below is my final Ulzzang inspired look :) What do you think?

Have a blessed day!

DIY Shimmer & Tinted Lip Balm For Dry Cracked Lips

Is there any mommy out there having super dry cracked lips?

I have!! My lips are super dry & always dry! It sucks. Period!

Desperately looking for a solution for my super dry lips & when nothing is seriously working, I made my own super hydrating lip balm. A nice one, shimmered & tinted!

I will show you how to make one.

Ingredients:

1) 100% Pure Lanolin. I got my lanolin balm from Mothercare. It was actually my nipple cream when I was still breastfeeding my son.. I had been using this cream during my whole breastfeeding journey & it worked wonder in hydrating my dry cracked nipples.. So, when I stopped breastfeeding, I had a little leftover.. Instead of dumping this away, I transformed this lanolin balm into something I can use beautifully on my lips. Lanolin is natural ingredient, it's safe for babies and there's no need to wash before feeding the baby, so it's absolutely safe for baby to latch on directly while mommy's having this cream on.. Safe for babies, of course, safe for our lips too!

P/S: if you don't have lanolin, you can opt for Vaseline, I heard it's good too :) and if you are a breastfeeding mommy, use your lanolin cream :)

2) Leftover Lipstick.. Mine is from Etude House and I adore this orangey-pink lipstick so so much.. and it's such a shame to dump this pretty color away, so I re-use it!

3) A shimmery eye shadow. preferably in soft colors such as pink, white, cream, etc.. This is optional, if you want your DIY lip balm to be shimmery, add shimmery eye shadow, if you don't, it's absolutely fine too :)

4) A small container. You can have 2! I have 2, one for shimmer & tinted lip balm and another one for pure lip balm (for night time)

3 easy steps:

Step 1: Mix lipstick with lanolin balm
Step 2: Stir well
Step 3: Add shimmery eye shadow. Stir well! and you are done with one beautiful DIY shimmer & tinted lip balm

I have been using my DIY lip balm for a week and I notice my lips are no longer dry and it works like wonder in hydrating my super dry lips.. Highly recommended if your lips are very dry.. This DIY tinted lip balm can be heavy on lips, so it's only suitable for those who have dry cracked lips.. I also think this is perfect when you need to travel to dry & cold countries.. Good for winter too!

Photo below is after I put on my DIY shimmer & tinted lip balm.. See how hydrating & soft my lips are? I love the pinkish color too.. It looks pretty & natural!

See how lovely the color is? The shimmer & tinted lip balm looks like one I bought from high-end cosmetic store, but this DIY costs me nothing at all! :)
I also have another DIY lip balm without color for me to use during night time when my lips tend to be very dry in an air-conditioned room. Lip balm with no color is also very easy to make.. Just squeeze the remaining of your lanolin cream into a tiny container and you are ready to have those luscious lips!
I hope this DIY works on you :)

DIY Cloth Pom Pom Hair Tie Made By Old Shirt

I made this DIY Pom Pom Hair Tie from my old shirt.. I was about to throw away my old rainbow shirt because it was torn quite badly but I changed my mind, instead I made this lovely hair tie.. Absolutely an adorable idea to turn something old into something I can use on my hair (and it's lovely too)

If I had a daughter (I wish), I would make her lots of cute DIY hair accessories and this would be one of those :)

Step 1:

1) Get one of your old shirts.. Mine is torn one, I have no heart to cut old shirt that is still in good condition.. Would rather donate it :)

Step 2:

Draw on your used cardboard a donut shape, about 5 cm diameter (bigger if you'd like your pom pom to be bigger or other way round) and cut it. It doesn't have to be perfect! Prepare 2 donuts!

Step 3:

Cut your old shirt into a few long strings, about 2 cm in width each string.. Each length is about 30 cm.. I prepare 3 strings.

Combine 2 donut cardboards together and roll the cloth strings over... Keep rolling & rolling until you can't see the cardboards anymore.. It's kind of covered by the cloth strings

You should keep rolling until donut cardboard is totally covered :)

Step 4:

Use scissor to cut the outer part of 'O' donut that is covered by cloth

Step 5:

Tie the middle part with a string. Secure it!

Step 6:

Cut the cardboard away

Step 7:

Trim the Pom Pom into one perfect round shape and prepare 1 black color rubber band

Step 8:

Tie Pom Pom over the rubber band. Secure it! And trim if necessary

Done! Easy and lovely.. It took me 5 minutes to do this lovely DIY hair tie :)

Until Next DIY,

10 things I appreciate & enjoy before having another BFP

If you read my above blog tittle, you may have guessed it correctly that I'm trying for baby no. 2. Yes, we are trying & this January is our first month trying to get the "BFP" or "Big Fat Positive" test :) Conceiving baby no.2 is less pressure than conceiving baby no.1 or we call him "Baby EJ". I'm taking things very slowly & peacefully.. I have no worries at all & to be honest, knowing I'm going to bake another bun in my oven, I'm enjoying being myself to the tiny bits... And these tiny bits I used to take for granted last time are tiny bits I'm currently enjoying & I appreciate. Little appreciation brings whole lot of happiness that leads to positive thinking.. See how it's related?

I appreciate little things and those little things make me feel positive, think positive & my life is more lively & happier :) Little things can make a difference and it's up to you, how are you gonna think about it!

Instead of worrying "How long will I take to conceive no.2?" "Will I have any complications?" "Will I have difficulty in conceiving no.2?" or "Is pregnancy no.2 going to be difficult? Here are 10 things I'm currently enjoying to tiny bits (before having another baby) that make me feel "Being Me is Wonderful and I appreciate it" It's better to feel good & positive than worrying something that hasn't happened yet!

1) Morning Coffee

Caffeine is not recommended during pregnancy. And I'm not pregnant yet, so it's okay for me to have a cup of freshly brewed coffee in the morning.. I take my time to smell the coffee and coffee would make everything better :)

2) Home Spa & Long Shower

Home Facial, Body Scrub, Face Mask... Taking long shower for 30 minutes while hubby taking care the baby.. I love smelling good & having silky smooth skin... Wonder if I could stand up for 30 minutes long to have shower or if I could reach my toes in my next pregnancy.. So enjoy while I can!

3) Skinny Me

Wonder if I could wear body shaper during pregnancy? Of course, not!! I love looking skinny, not stick-skinny type, but looking slim in tummy area. I'm vain & I won't deny it! I love wearing my body shaper & I'm wearing it daily at home to achieve a flatter stomach, just like before... To slim down before next pregnancy, why can't I?

4) Get Crafty

I love making DIY stuff & I love sewing and I wonder if I could have the energy & motivation to sew stuff during my next pregnancy. Not forgetting, the poor back & blurry eyes during pregnancy that hinder creativity. So, get crafty, be crafty while I can!

5) Watching Movies & Videos That Inspire Me

Going on movie date with hubby midnight while baby sleeping (and mother in law at home to help to watch the baby) Technically, I can still watch movies during pregnancy but I can't fight my sleepiness for midnight movies.

I love to watch videos on YouTube, any kind of videos can inspire me in their own unique inspirational ways and make me feel grateful with the life I have now.. It's a must to feel positive before next pregnancy, right?

6) Spending Time With My Baby

Play with him, Cuddle him, Carry him, Smell him, Appreciate him and many more.. It's going to be a little bit hard to carry & play with a toddler during pregnancy, so appreciate the tiny bits of him while I still can! I love my baby with all my heart & my love is yet to be divided with another baby..

Right now, I love him as much as I can :)

7) Buy A Pretty Dress

Need I say more? Fancy it, buy it!! Before it's too late to wear or getting too huge to fit in!

White lacey dress from H&M

8) Eating Seafood

Need I say more? Yes, enjoy lots of delicious seafood while I still can! Chili Crab, Prawn, Calamari, Scallop, Oyster, Sushi-Salmon, Clam and many more.. I'm a seafood lover and during pregnancy, I will try to avoid seafood or not to eat too much because of concerns over mercury.. So, now? Enjoy as much as I like & I can!

9) Enjoy The Freedom

The freedom to write my blog, the freedom to bring my baby out for evening walk, the freedom to sleep for 8 hours every night (I have been sleeping for 8 hours since I quit breastfeeding) Before taking a bigger responsibility (conceiving & raising up another child), why not to enjoy little freedoms while I still can?

10) Enjoy Being 'Me', The 'Fit' Me

I'm not pregnant & I'm fit, I can walk for an hour without having backache, why not to appreciate & enjoy the 'fit me' while I'm still able to? You get the point?

Live a positive life by thinking positively! List down things you love to do and do it NOW!
